ICS removed and replaced two underground storage tanks (USTs) from a major automobile manufacturer's corporate headquarters and R&D offices in Torrance, California. Work was performed under strict facility health and safety regulations as well as schedule requirements.
- Exposed one 10,000-gallon UST, one 5,000-gallon UST, triple rinsed and certified tanks for removal
- Removed one 10,000-gallon gasoline UST, one 5,000-gallon gasoline UST and associated piping
- Prepared UST install plans for permit submittal and obtained UST install permits from Torrance FD, building department and SCAQMD air permits
- Prepared excavation to receive one 10,000-gallon gasoline UST and one 5,000-gallon split gasoline/diesel fuel UST
- Installed 10,000-gallon and 5,000-gallon USTs, associated DW piping, dispenser containment, conduits, leak detection system and dispensers
- All work performed under strict dust and odor regulations
- Assisted client with soil sampling and SCAQMD Rule 1166 monitoring
- Backfilled, compacted and resurfaced excavations to UST and piping manufacturers specifications
All work was performed in compliance with the City of Torrance Fire and Building Departments, South Coast Air Quality Management Districts Rule 461 requirements and special Client guidelines. Project was performed within proposed schedule even with additional work requested by Client and Owner.
