ICS was contracted to install over 50,000 feet of HDPE pipe beneath two 400,000 square foot building pads. The piping was connected to 169 bio-injection wells. The work included extensive coordination with drillers and developer's contractors who were grading, forming and pouring building foundations directly behind ICS' work.
- Installed approximately 1,800 feet of 3-inch schedule 80 VES piping. The pipes were sloped to 0.5% and connected to 4 VES wells 7 feet below building pad grade
- Installed over 50,000 linear feet of ¾-inch HDPE using socket fused couplings
- Piping was installed in multiple layers within approximately 4,000 feet of trench. Each layer was pressure tested to 160 psi and backfilled with cement slurry. The trenches include up to 51 pipes in four layers
- ICS designed and fabricated specialized brackets and spacers to keep the HDPE pipe from floating and separating in the trench during slurry backfilling
ICS and client were subject to significant liquidated damages from developer if work was not completed within 8 weeks. ICS was able to complete the work on time (1 week early) and within the contract budget.
